After 8 years in Australia, I have decided to head back home to the UK to be close to family and seek out my next adventure. I can honestly say that TAB is such an incredible place to work and it will be very difficult for me when the time comes to part ways with my team and this amazing national organisation. If you are passionate about performing arts ticketing, have experience in customer service delivery and enhancement, and enjoy managing a team of talented and exceptional people, then being The Australian Ballet's next Head of Ticketing and Customer Experience may be your next adventure. These sessions are informal Lean Coffee format, which allows attendees to create the meeting agenda by posting discussion questions related to the topic of burnout, for attendees to then share and learn strategies that people have taken to support themselves and their teams. You can view the event here: https://community.tessitura.com/affinity-tessitura-community-groups/neurodiversity-mental-wellness/c/e/1553# Full event description: Burnout seems to be an ever-present feature in our work lives these days. From constant deadlines and short turnarounds to persistent staffing shortages, to managing audience and stakeholders' expectations during a crisis, there are a lot of reasons for overload to build up. In a recent post on the DEAI forum , Shenette Swann (Marbles Kids Museum) asked, “In what ways do your organisation's practice the prevention of burnout and provide a greater sense of value for all teammates?” That forum thread alone collected a wide range of strategies that organisations have gathered to mitigate the risk of burnout and support the recovery of their teams when pressures arise. To keep this conversation going, we will be running two Town Hall style sessions to talk informally about what challenges you have faced with burnout in the workplace, and to listen and share what strategies and options people have taken to support themselves and their teams. Wed 20 March 11:00am EDT Fri 22 March 1pm AEDT The virtual meeting will take place through Teams (link below). Closed captioning will be available. You're welcome to join however it is most comfortable for you - camera on, voice only, or text chat. We’ll be meeting using the Lean Coffee format, which allows attendees to create the meeting agenda by posting discussion questions related to the topic of burnout. Our lean coffee board can be found here if you’d like to suggest topics or questions beforehand, otherwise just come along. If you have questions or queries, please reach out! See you there!! Innovator Series Tessitura Trivia and networking Open Discussion Topic: Training and Onboarding | Jade Moore - Co-Chair Melbourne Tessitura Community What is working? Ash: Demystifying Tessitura, RISING have a large casual pool of people who haven't used the system before. Being honest about how there is lots of different ways to do things and it's okay to be overwhelmed. Documentation sits with two core users. Emma: When explaining a process, we do all three of these things: Provide a step-by-step document. Show someone doing it. Then, sit with them to click it through. Training sits across a few different people within the org. Covers the different ways people learn. Anastasia: Tessitura dashboards and Tessitura on the go has seen adoption within the team from folks who don't usually access the application. This has also been felt with external stakeholders also . Does anyone feel like they are doing documentation well? Lots of no across the board! Sophie: Have been looking at recording things if they run someone through a training session. They are tr ying to record when they go through a process so that it's captured. Super User Grou ps - does your org have one? Some organisations have them! Some challenges raised that some Super User Groups don't have a clear product owner or reporting line. Which makes it confusing who is really steering and championing the use of the system in the org. Legacy organisationa l knowledge can also be a challenge - the expectation to continue to train folks even though that no longer sits within your role. What aren't we doing well? Ash: Training 50 team members in short succession to get them on the ground for sales is tough. They are looking at how they might pair up more knowledgable folks with newbies on the ground. Videos have assist here with documentation. Jessie: Reviewing training a year on and assisting with team learning more. Doesn't think we are doing this well at the moment. NGV send a form to team to ask what they have questions in and need assistance with, this then guides group training. Onboarding and retraining are separate convos. Wrapping Up and Key Takeaways: Reminder from Amalia: You can save documentation directly into the Tessitura help system! There is a Getting to Know Tessitura Session on the 12th October. This is a general overview of the functionalities of the application, could be helpful if you have new team members: https://www.tessituranetwork.com/en/Items/Events/webinars/2023/Members/Getting_to_know_1012 A reminder there is also an Onboarding & Upskilling Your Team Tessitura Topical Community : https://community.tessituranetwork.com/topical_groups/onboarding-upskilling-your-team-tessitura-community/f/discussions Most meetings are UK time, but bound to be some helpful content there! For folks interested in recording themselves for walkthroughs and training. Here are a few options: Loom: https://www.loom.com/ Vimeo: https://vimeo.com/features/screen-recorder Microsoft Steps Recorder: Should be already on your computer if you have Windows 10 or above. This is better for small clips. For PDFs and presentations - you can also record directly into a presentation via the latest version of Desktop Powepoint For PDFs and presentations - Canva also has a record yourself feature Next Meetup: We are aiming for another meetup prior to the end of the year and look forward to seeing everyone at TLCC in November!!

Melbourne Tessitura Community Meetup - Online!

Hi folks! Join us for our first Melbourne Tessitura Community Meetup for 2023! You are most warmly invited to come together for an afternoon of learning and networking at The Wheeler Centre. A big thank you to Courtney and the team for hosting us! Whether you're new to Tessitura or have been using it for years, all are welcome at community meetups to get to know fellow users, share tips, tricks and learnings in our first meetup for 2023! During this meetup, the Tessitura team will be in Melbourne with Jeremy Dixon (Managing Director Asia Pacific) and Amalia Hordern (Senior Director Asia Pacific at Tessitura), sharing updates. We'll have time to debrief on the year that has been, time to reconnect and discuss our community group moving forward and plenty of time for questions. Following the meeting, from 4.30pm we’ll gather for a much-needed casual catch-up for networking/drinks at The Moat (under the Wheeler Centre), where Happy Hour will be a go and there may be a tiny tab. Come re-connect with old friends and make new connections, as we gather as a community again! If we haven't met before, my name is Jess, I'm the Visitor Experience Manager at Melbourne Recital Centre and I'm one of the Community Chairs of our Melbourne Tessitura Community. I'm hitting your inboxes with a few small updates and an invitation to our first Community Meetup for 2023! Full disclosure, when I started writing this post it began with Happy New Year - but somehow, it’s June and I no longer hold any concept of time. I’m not sure how 2023 has been going for you, but gosh time seems to be moving VERY VERY quickly! I hope everyone is travelling well and keeping warm. Thank-you Kim If you weren’t already aware, the wonderful Kim Lee departed as Community Chair at the start of this year. Please join me in sincerely thanking Kim for her work and time as Chair, we hope to still see your face at meetings to come Kim! Welcome Jade - our new Community Chair I'm thrilled to let you know that joining me as Community Chair for 2023 is the exceptional Jade Moore! Jade is the Customer Insights Manager at Arts Centre Melbourne - she just clocked 10 years under that beautiful spire (congrats) and I'm sure all within our community who have gotten to know her would agree, she is a rather wonderful human! But you don't have to take my word for it; if you haven't met Jade before, she presented a TN Inspire! at TLCC Orlando in 2018 - you can view her presentation here . HOT OFF THE PRESS First Gathering for 2023: Thursday 15 June @ The Wheeler Centre Our first gathering for 2023 will be: Thursday 15 June 3pm - 4:30pm The Wheeler Centre 176 Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne VIC 3000 Please RSVP via the event: Melbourne Tessitura Community Event Acknowledging the short notice on this one - don't worry; there will be more opportunities to connect in 2023 - please see below! Meetups in 2023 This year, I'm keen to see our community grow and to provide opportunities to meet more regularly. I’m looking forward to learning from each other, sharing our wins and challenges, having opportunities to connect & to meet new faces. Our community has continued to expand through the pandemic, and in the last few years, we've seen more and more organisations outside the Melbourne CBD join us (yay - welcome)! When we met in 2022, several folks noted that some of the barriers relating to attending meetings sat with the extra time commitment of travelling to a venue - it made getting the time away approved during busy periods difficult. With this in mind, I'd like to suggest a mixture of hybrid and in-person meetups in 2023. It is my hope that by trialling this, we'll be able to assist in making attending events more accessible whilst still having the opportunity to meet in person when we can. I’m also hopeful that by meeting more regularly, we’ll be able to equip each other with tangible examples of why this time together is so valuable, assisting folks in advocating to attend these meetings as the ROI is a win-win. Suggested structure for 2023: April – June: In-person gathering: Thursday 15 June at The Wheeler Centre. July – September: Online gathering: Date TBC in August. A big happy new year to you all. New Year, New Job… right? That’s certainly my mantra heading into 2023, and as such I’m saying goodbye to all the fabulous people here at ANAM! But that means one thing: ANAM’s searching for someone to take the reins of Senior Marketing Coordinator. This is seriously great role, in an organisation that I can hand on heart say cares about people and their development. I’ve gone through a lot of professional (and personal) growth here, all the while with a team of wonderful people championing and supporting me. More info on the job can be found here: www.anam.com.au/employment (applications close in just under a month) Please share it around! I’m totally happy to speak with anyone who is considering applying and share my experience. I’m sad to bid everyone here adieu, but selfishly also very excited for the next chapter!

Forum Post: Development job at Australian National Academy of Music

Hi everyone, We are currently in the process of recruiting for a coordinator in our Development team here at ANAM. Constellations of chords rush to become vast galaxies of sound surging with Bach’s eternal creative energy. Each work is an infinite cosmic expanse to explore. In this concert, single musicians will arrive one by one onto a darkened stage beneath a brilliant column of light to offer an intimate vision of Bach’s celestial instrumental works. The stage will gradually become illuminated with musicians joining in Paul Dyer’s expansive all-Bach pasticcio set with a theatrical narration which explores Bach’s extraordinary life. Returning to Australia for his first live performances, sensational German Baroque violinist Jonas Zschenderlein will lead the orchestra in a radiant performance of Bach’s Violin Concerto in E major. This all-Bach concert culminates with Jonas guest-directing the genius composer’s enveloping Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major in a period instrument performance which must not be missed.
