Hello all!!

Here is a reminder from Meredith Woolard (she/her) about TLCC Washington in August!

All are welcome to submit presentation proposals, no matter your experience with Tessitura. Presenters will receive a 25% discount on the conference registration fee, and support will be available to help you prepare your presentation. Session proposals are due by Wednesday, 10 April. Learn more and submit your ideas.

Here is some helpful, general information about TLCC Washington, D.C.:

Dates and location:

TLCC Washington, D.C. will take place Sunday, 11 August through Wednesday, 14 August at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Registration information:

Registration opens Tuesday, 30 April.
Early bird registration $1,595 through 31 May
Regular registration $1,745 through 12 July
Last call registration $1,995 through 6 August

Virtual Viewing Pass option:

A Virtual Viewing Pass will include live access to all general sessions and 48 concurrent breakout sessions, as well as recordings of those sessions.
Registration for the Virtual Viewing Pass is $575 through last call on 6 August.
On demand access to conference content after the conference is $625.

Donate2 Integration and Ack Letters - How do YOU do it?

Hey there friends!

For those of you that are integrated with D2, I'm hoping you can share with me how you manage the ack letter process between what D2 does electronically, and what you do in house either electronically or via usps.

We've just started our integration with D2 at the Museum and Memorial (I've worked with them before, but on a limited basis and it's been a while).

For example:

Have you set up specific appeals that you then don't let trigger ack letters for so that only D2 is sending the ack?

Do you create a list of Channel=D2 that you suppress when you run your ack letters reports?

Do you do something magical I haven't even thought of yet?!

Hi Keri! This is belated but hopefully it helps.

D2 is sending all receipts/acknowledgements for gifts received through D2, but then we are following up with mailed TYs if the gift is above $250 or for certain campaigns/events.

We are not currently running ack letters through Tess but I am investigating getting that set up.

Today, the application period for the Community DEAI Advisory Committee is open!

For 2024, Tessitura will seat 4 new members on the committee to join 4 current members (Chloe Burton, Clayton Dickson, Carlos García León, and Shenette Swan). They are seeking a broad range of representation and lived experiences, including a representative from Australia/New Zealand, to join in this work.

Commitment

Committee members will serve a two-year term beginning in January 2024. Members are expected to:

Attend and contribute to six meetings held bi-monthly each year (length of meetings ranges from 90 minutes to two hours)
Respond to group emails and collaborate asynchronously in online forms and documents
Participate in DEAI content curation and/or creation meetings
Participate in Tessitura affinity groups as a co-chair of a group or active participant
Monitor the DEAI Forum and respond to forum posts
Agree to and follow our code of conduct for community leaders
Compensation for time and emotional labor will be US$500 per year, paid bi-annually. To learn more about the advisory committee’s aims and structure, please review our charter.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the advisory committee, members must:

Be an employee at a Tessitura member organization
Have participated in the Tessitura community for at least six months. This could involve contributing to forum discussions, attending community group events, and/or attending a Tessitura Learning & Community Conference
Have at least six months of experience at an organization live with Tessitura

Attending TLCC 2023 Orlando? Look for the conference app to drop this afternoon!

Hi Kansas City Tessitura Community,

If you are attending TLCC 2023 Orlando, watch for an email this afternoon from Tessitura. It'll have the conference app (Swapcard) which you can use to register for space limited sessions such as a tour of the conference facility on Sunday and hands-on workshops for Tessitura Analytics and you can add non space limited sessions to create your personal calendar. Drop a comment below if you will be there, and find me and say Hello! to me at the Mix & Meet on Monday evening. You can find me at the Central US location from 6:00-6:50 and IT and Developers from 7:00-8:00pm. This year there will also be Quiet tables during dining hours for those who need to recharge. Mix & Meet is a fun opportunity to get to know others in the Tessitura Community.

KC Tessitura Community Meetup Planning

We would love to have a Kansas City area meetup in early to mid-June. To do so, we will need to secure a host organization with room for 50-ish people.

Laura and I will take up the torch of content, assist with scheduling and handle communications with all of the attendees, so your time commitment is relatively minimal.

Bringing this group to your organization is also a great way to get some visibility and gain those word-of-mouth communications we all love. If you are interested, you can simply respond here or contact me at ken.mcclain@kcstarlight.com.

Tuesday and Wednesday are excellent meeting days! We would probably have the most attendance on the 6^th or 7^th or 13^th if one of those dates works for you. For the meeting time, we work around the hosting organization’s schedule which is usually 4-6pm, 5-7pm or once it was 4:30 to 6:30pm.

Sounds great. We'll let you know a final date soon. Tuesday and Wed would be nice as the museum is closed, but there woudl be the issue of getting everyone to the meeting room. On the 5th, 8th, or 12th it woudl be easier to enter and get to the meeting rooms, but then you'd have parking to content with.

Do you normally meet 4 - 6pm?

Hey there Laura and all our colleagues across Kansas City!

I was wondering if there is any plan for another community meetup in the coming months. For those of us unable to go to TLCC this year, it would be great to have a chance to network again and talk shop on programming. I'm also thinking ahead to our summer internship season and thought it'd be a great opportunity to give our respective interns a chance to come together as well. Hope everyone's been well, and best of luck preparing for your busy summer calendars!
