Moskal II

Great to meet you, Bryan Evans ! I am less the fresh face in the crowd, but more the "Backstreet's Back" representative here, having been around for a while (speaking of which, we just announced an upcoming performance by Nick Carter today!). I contain what some have called "too much" enthusiasm for technical matters, and have a passion for classical music that borders on obsessive; my collection of recordings is... vast. I have had the privilege of using the Tessitura system, in one form or another, since the day I started on the job, back in October of 2010. So I am pretty well versed in the basics and much of the deep level knowledge and history of the software. In fact, I tend to get lost most easily with the changes and newer functionality. I am John A. Moskal II, or you might see me referred to as JAM 2.0, and I work for The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana, home of the Palladium. I am the Director of IT here, and spend my days wrapped up in every logic puzzle on which I can get my hands. From writing code for SQL procedures, to ad hoc data requests, to new HTML templates, JavaScript bells and whistles for our website or trying to create custom functionality, I code well and often. In addition, I am also the guy who takes care of computer and other hardware management on staff, and am always up for a question of "why is my computer doing this?". Outside of work, I am uncle to six fabulous nieces and nephews, some of whom live close enough that I get to see them every week and be the "cool uncle" (or so I think). At least, they like to climb on top of me and give me hugs, so I will take it. I am also very involved in my Church, volunteering as a Catechist to teach the Children's Liturgy and 2nd grade Religious Education programs among other volunteer activities. I am a pretty decent singer myself, I can belt out a Broadway tune as good as any amateur, though lately I have also been trying to take out my trumpet more and more. I want to get comfortable enough with that again to perform publicly as I have not done since graduating from IU back in 2008 (how did that get so long ago?). I am also a BIG movie and TV buff, and you are more than welcome to talk to me about current movies, past movies and all kinds of TV shows. I am active on the forums, and always up for a Tessitura-related discussion. You can usually find me at TLCC if you want to do so. I look forward to getting to know all of you better. Thanks to Bryan Evans and Molly (Wible) Sweets for heading up this group for everyone! I was literally just talking about this kind of idea the other day with one of my coworkers, so thanks for making it so easy for us! John A. I'm your other co-chair of the Indiana User Group, Molly Sweets. I use she/her pronouns, I've got auburn hair and wear glasses, and I'm part of the Duck Tales generation. I'm the Tessitura Administrator at the Indiana Repertory Theatre in Indianapolis. I've been there for over 17 years and we've been on Tessitura for about 12 years now. My role at the theatre is to act as the Tessitura Super User for the company, serving each department's respective needs and maintaining a connection to the network as well as handling upgrades, etc. In addition, I build our season and all offers, run lots of reports, you know the drill. I also assist with proofreading and am a staunch advocate for accessibility in the arts. Outside of work, I'm a board game enthusiast, avid reader, and voracious cinephile. I live in Indianapolis with my husband Chris and our aging cat Roxanne (Roxie/Roxipulous Major/Fluffer/Stinky/Princess/Gremlin/Pookums/etc.). I love dinosaurs and cryptids, especially Nessie, and am currently engrossed in playing Jurassic World Evolution 2, where you build your own dinosaur theme parks. I'm looking forward to meeting you, swapping some ideas and stories, and helping make our state and region a brighter, stronger arts community!

Forum Post: Introduce Yourself, Right On!

Hello, everyone! Consider me the fresh face in the crowd, the newcomer stepping onto the stage, the "New Kid on the Block," if you will. My name is Bryan D. Evans, Sr., and I'm here to bring my unique blend of passion, expertise, and enthusiasm. I hail from the heart of Central Indiana, which I have only called home for a few years. My family and I navigated here from Wisconsin in the thick of the pandemic to take on a role at the Children's Museum of Indianapolis, the biggest and best of its kind in the world! My role here at the museum revolves around creating joy and wonder, serving as the Constituent Relationship Analyst & Systems Manager. Let's say I breathe, eat, and sleep CRM technology – it's my language, my jam, my way of making connections that spark magic. But work isn't my only passion. At home, my wife and I are raising three incredible kids, ages 7, 6, and 2. They keep us on our toes (and full of laughter!), reminding us of the simple joys in life. Beyond family, I'm actively involved in ministry, serving as an executive pastor. Guiding others and fostering spiritual growth is a role I cherish deeply. Now, let's not forget the fun stuff! Music is my secret weapon, with a voice that can hold its own and some smooth saxophone skills as well. No, I haven't found the courage to engage in the mastery of the Tessiturians yet. On that note, I'm thrilled to be joining this group as the Co-Chair of the Tessitura Community Group of Indiana and contributing to building a strong, supportive regional network. It will be the biggest and best! I believe in the power of collaboration, and I'm eager to connect with all of you, learn from your experiences, and share my own. Shalom! I want to get to know you! Share your intro with us, if you will!

Events

Forum: Discussions

Group: Indiana Tessitura Community

The Indiana Tessitura Community is a regional group of Tessitura members from organizations across Indiana; encompassing all business areas including Development, Education, Finance, IT, Marketing, and Ticketing.
