I spoke to Ron from Kis this morning and discovered they have a fundamental merch sales tool. It could be more robust and appears to have basic functionality. It is currently used for add-on merch sales when selling a ticket. You can use a device and print a receipt. It is limited in scope at this time. For example, you can sell a t-shirt but not an S, M, L, or XL because of the multiple SKUs for one product. They offer only one product photo. The way it was described, in its current state, is a viable POS solution for us now. Discovery is an option.

Forum Post: RE: What do you use for POS?

Virginia Museum of History & Culture uses SalesVu for our cafe and store. I generally only use the store side of it and it does integrate with Tessitura. This is mostly just copying over membership info so when we type in a member number in the store or when they log in online, they automatically get the member discount. Members do still need a separate login for TNEW and SalesVu which causes a lot of confusion.

Forum Post: RE: What do you use for POS?

Apparently they are from what WWL told me. Thank you for starting this thread. We are presently investigating a POS solution, so this is great! Looking at Shopify and realized that the Tessitura relationship is no longer supported. We have part of our business (Joe's Pub) using that product as a quick solution. There was no desire to integrate at the time of implementation. They just wanted an online and social presence. It is working out well for the pub. We discussed reviewing the available reports to see what we can collect information and store in Tessitura. TBD because this team became aware of this last week. I spoke to Sales Vu and needed to further the conversation. There is more to a POS than its out-of-the-box explanation. There is a call scheduled for more creative API-related exploration. Lastly, WWL told me about KisTechnology. Ron Wilson, a former Tessitura staff member, is there now. I have a call with them this week to learn more about the product and what it offers. I will be happy to share all once we have details.

Forum Post: RE: What do you use for POS?

We're split right now between Square and 1-2 other systems for some of our visual arts materials management, but we're moving into SalesVu so that it all lives in one place. It's easy to use, reports have been adequate for our needs, and the system itself requires minimal training, but we've had issues with card readers being spotty from time to time. Our other systems are just old/antiquated--they only work on pre-2010 computers and the versions we have aren't supported by more current operating systems.
