Hello everyone!
We're planning to do another round of internal performance testing with the charitable tax receipt feature before it is released for general use, and I could use your help. I spoken with some of you about tax receipt volume and generation frequency in the past, but I was hoping to gather some more details so that we can adjust our testing to better match what you all do in real life. I do understand that the way you generate tax receipts today may not be the way you generate them once charitable tax receipts is released, but please give me your best guesses.
If there's any other information that you think would be helpful for me to know, please feel free to share that as well.
Thank you!
Meaghan
Hi Meaghan,
1) It does depend on the time of year. typically ~5 daily. Many days will have none at all but during renewal campaigns and end of calendar year asks it could be 100 in a day (daily batches have been our goal for running receipts).
2) We assign different acknowledgment letters to contributions based on the campaign the donor is supporting so that tends to break up our batches. There have been periods when receipts for a while, so our largest single batch would have been several hundred.
3) See 2 above. 2) a. We are hearing a lot of feedback from some of our donors that they are expecting tax receipts immediately after making their donation, so what we would wish is to have the utility run continuously throughout the day so a "batch" would never have a high number receipts in it.
I was away for a week. Sorry for my delayed response.
1. 100 weekly is a good average for us.
2. Busy times of the year, multiple campaigns running and year-end installments could go up to 300/350
3. We are currently breaking up some in smaller batches to accommodate matching letters and membership cards and we also run by company (CDN, US, Endow).
Thanks, Ceairy! Much appreciated.
