I cannot believe it was only a week ago! We hope that you enjoyed taking the time to meet and network with other local Tessitura users. The feedback received on the day and since, has been wonderful and there are plans for us to have future networking events in the near future. It was a success for all involved and the original expected attendee numbers were very much surpassed with 30 people in attendance! Along with Queensland Ballet , there were Tessitura users from Queensland Theatre , Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Grant and Pryce from HOTA Gold Coast. It was great to have Jeremy, Amalia, Dale and George (Tessitura Asia Pacific) in Brisbane and able to join us in person as well. Unfortunately, La Boite Theatre staff were unable to attend due to launching their 2023 season, however they were with us in spirit. Below is a breakdown of the agenda on the day and what we discussed. There will be some further notes/information to follow, as soon as I have them to distribute, for you to be able to reference as well. 4pm meet in the Talbot Theatre, Thomas Dixon Centre – if you would like to attend a full 1 and a half hour Thomas Dixon Centre venue tour with more information about this historical building, you can purchase tickets here or contact Mikaela or Jenn directly at QB if there is a group of you wishing to attend. Welcome - Liz Thomas & Jennifer Laing (BTCG Co-Chairs) and Welcome – from Dilshani (QB-Executive Director) Jeremy, Amalia (Tessitura) – updates/announcements from the Tessitura world – don’t forget to sign up as a user on the Tessitura website to receive email updates of upcoming training webinars and informative blog posts. You can also sign up to receive notifications from the online Forums which is a great place to ask questions, find answers or just reach out to other users in your specific area of expertise or interest. Short Thomas Dixon Centre venue tour (conducted by QB staff) – thank you Mikaela! Snacks and Cash Bar in the foyer until 6pm – we had to kick some of you out after 6pm! Great to see you still wanting to chat. Community Open Space Discussion – TLCC SYDNEY – highlights, topics for discussion – thank you to those members who shared their highlights from the conference, particularly those of you who were first time attendees. Plans Workshop – this workshop from the conference was mentioned by a number of you. Liz will very kindly share her presentation notes with us and we shall also reach out to Sydney Theatre Company to see if they would be willing to share their notes on how they best utilise this functionality. Customer Journey Roadmap – Amalia’s presentation from the conference was also a highlight for many. Perhaps Amalia could share her notes from the conference? Digital Tickets – how, what, where and why? This is a topic that I think we shall note for the next meet up. At this point in time, it sounded like most of us our only using Print at Home functionality at this stage. HOTA Gold Coast – Thank you to Grant and Pryce who very kindly shared their insights on implementing and using their new Kiosks in the HOTA Gallery utilising the Tessitura partnership with KIS Technologies. Check out this blog post for more information. Smaller Group Discussions and Networking – There were a lot of introductions made and many discussions had, when we broke off into smaller groups. Please feel free to share any insights, new discoveries or general topics that you think might be of interest to the whole group and for those who were unable to attend. Let’s keep in touch and keep the momentum going this year! Building on from last year’s first meet up at La Boite Theatre. Bye for now and we look forward to seeing you in a foyer somewhere very soon

Brisbane and Gold Coast Tessitura Community Meetup

Hi all, We would love for you to join us for our next Brisbane (& Gold Coast!) To those who were unable to attend, we will most definitely be getting the group together again later in the year so I hope to get the opportunity to meet you then. As mentioned yesterday, whilst we work through the process of kickstarting this group again, I'm looking to get feedback from you about what content would be useful to be shared, as well as what topics you might want covered during the meetups. With V16 very much on the horizon, I feel like this will be at the forefront of content on this group for a short while - it'll be good to have somewhere to check with each other on how preparations are going, how the implementation goes and to support each other through any potential challenges! I'll be sharing a survey in the group next week to get some feedback from you, so please do keep an eye out for that. My name is Liz Thomas and I'm the Ticketing Services Manager at Queensland Symphony Orchestra and I've just come on board as the new co-chair for this Community. This community has been quiet for a little while, so I'm looking to use it bring us all together to create a space where we can get to know each other, come to ask each other for advice and share valuable insights. Tessitura Director Amalia Hordern and Managing Director Jeremy Dixon are going to be in Brisbane on Thursday 5 May, so we're looking to host a get-together for the Brisbane Community that afternoon. I was hoping to host it here at the ABC Building but it looks like there's a lot going on here on that day so I was wondering whether one of the other Community members might have a venue that we could host this in? I'm also looking for others to volunteer to come on board as co-chairs. If you want more information on this, please reach out to Meredith Woolard ( mwoolard@tessituranetwork.com ) and I'm sure she'll be happy to talk to you! I'm keen to grow this group, so please do encourage any Tessitura users in your organisation to join and feel free to start up conversations in this group if there's anything you'd like to discuss or ask. I'd love to get to know you all, please introduce yourself in the comments below and do let me know if you might be free on the afternoon of 5 May (I'll send out an invitation once we've got a confirmed venue!). I went to the conference last year and didn’t quite realise what Open Space was until I got there, so I thought I’d try to give you all some advance warning! Essentially, Open Space is a self-organising method of facilitating group discussions. So unlike all other Tessitura sessions, where the topics were decided by the planning committee months in advance, none of the topics for Open Space will be decided until the first meeting (the Opening Circle, as they call it). And this is where it gets exciting: you’re going to be at a conference with around 2,000 other arts professionals. Is there any topic that you would like to discuss with them? If there is, BRING IT TO OPEN SPACE. You never know who else might want to talk about it. Under the rules of Open Space, participants are free to move around and try as many different conversations as they want, so you can pick up a lot of useful information in a very short period of time. Here’s a short two-minute video which explains the whole thing: https://tessituranetwork.box.com/s/gpcnuyrttcsgs6n6pc3hw9crpn7qp68o As a personal example, last year, I wanted to discuss how to combat the aging audience in classical music, threw the topic into the Open Space circle, and a day later, I was having a great discussion with a dozen other enthusiastic people about the topic. So if this sounds exciting, you only need to do two things: Mark the Opening Circle session on your conference diary so you can remember to get there (hint: there’s nothing else on at the time). Think of that topic you want to discuss!
