TLCC Reminders and Deadlines!

As a reminder there are two TLCC-based opportunities with deadlines closing in!

CALL FOR TLCC PRESENTERS

All are welcome to submit presentation proposals, no matter your experience with Tessitura. Presenters will receive a 25% discount on the conference registration fee, and support will be available to help you prepare your presentation. Session proposals are due by Wednesday, 10 April. Learn more and submit your ideas.

APPLY FOR A TLCC SCHOLARSHIP

Tessitura is offering 10 scholarships for TLCC 2024 in Washington, DC, including seven Diversity Scholarships and three Emerging Leaders Scholarships.

Scholars will be awarded complimentary conference registration. This includes:

All sessions
All networking events
All conference meals and refreshment breaks (except Tuesday evening, which is a build-your-own networking night)
Access to conference materials and presentations

Scholars will be responsible for their own travel expenses and lodging.

All applications and letters of recommendation must be received by April 17, 2024. The Scholarship Committee will notify all candidates about its decision by May 10, 2024.

TLCC Washington, D.C. will take place Sunday, 11 August through Wednesday, 14 August at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center.

Registration information:

Registration opens Tuesday, 30 April.
Early bird registration $1,595 through 31 May
Regular registration $1,745 through 12 July
Last call registration $1,995 through 6 August

Virtual Viewing Pass option:

A Virtual Viewing Pass will include live access to all general sessions and 48 concurrent breakout sessions, as well as recordings of those sessions.
Registration for the Virtual Viewing Pass is $575 through last call on 6 August.
On demand access to conference content after the conference is $625.

In recognition of International Women's Day, our HR team has been sharing resources. I thought I would share some of the posts. There's some great stuff! This one specifically made me so grateful for the awesome space you have all created.

Today we are looking at female friendships and how important they are to women's overall health and wellbeing. Friendships play a crucial role in our lives, extending beyond mere companionship. Research reveals that these connections have a profound impact on various aspects of health and well-being. Here are some of the reasons they matter:

Townhalls on Burnout in the Workplace

I wanted to make sure you're all aware of the upcoming town halls that the Neurodiversity & Mental Wellness community group is hosting later this month.

There are 2 virtual town halls that will focus on burnout. These will be opportunities for folks to talk informally about burnout in the workplace, and to listen and share what strategies and options people have taken to support themselves and their teams. More details below.

This article popped up on my LinkedIn this morning and I found it a very interesting read.

Despite 45% of STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) students now being women across the US, women still only represent 26% of STEM professionals and 40-50% of those tend to leave their STEM positions after 5-7 years. The article talks how women can be more supported in these roles.

Applications Now Open for the Spring Session of the Career Accelerator Program

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick note to say that applications are open today for the spring session of Tessitura's Career Accelerator Program! As a graduate of this program, I cannot express enough how wonderful this program was, and I strongly encourage everyone who is eligible to apply!

Applicants must:

Be located in North America
Be at least 18 years of age
Identify as a member of a racial or ethnic group that has been historically excluded from the arts and culture sector
Intend to participate in all 10 weeks of the program, to the best of your ability

Timeline for the spring 2024 session:

Applications open on Monday, December 11, and are due by Sunday, January 21.
Applicants will be informed of the status of their application no later than Wednesday, January 31.
Accepted applicants will be asked to confirm participation by Sunday, February 11.

Program Details

The spring session runs February 19 - April 26, 2024 and is free of charge.

Up to three hours of self-paced online learning per week in either fundraising or ticketing (approx. $500 USD value)
Three 90-minute group conversations with students, mentors, program staff, and invited guests
Five 60-minute small group mentoring sessions

Private online forum for students and mentors
One year of access to the Tessitura Training Center graduate library of video training resources
Full scholarship to the next North American Tessitura Learning & Community Conference (conference fees only, travel and hotel not included; approx. $1600 USD value)

TLCC Melbourne is right around the corner! Attendees are invited to participate in the Women in Tech lunch meetup on Friday 3 November from 1:30-2:30pm. Join our affinity group lunch to connect and share ideas with other women and non-binary people in the technology field.

All affinity groups will be meeting at this time. We recognize intersectionality among affinity groups and invite participants to mingle across tables.

DEAI Advisory Committee Applications are Now Open!

Good morning, everyone!

Today, the application period for the Community DEAI Advisory Committee is open!

For 2024, Tessitura will seat 4 new members on the committee to join 4 current members (Chloe Burton, Clayton Dickson, Carlos García León, and Shenette Swan). They are seeking a broad range of representation and lived experiences, including a representative from Australia/New Zealand, to join in this work.

Commitment

Committee members will serve a two-year term beginning in January 2024. Members are expected to:

Attend and contribute to six meetings held bi-monthly each year (length of meetings ranges from 90 minutes to two hours)
Respond to group emails and collaborate asynchronously in online forms and documents
Participate in DEAI content curation and/or creation meetings
Participate in Tessitura affinity groups as a co-chair of a group or active participant
Monitor the DEAI Forum and respond to forum posts
Agree to and follow our code of conduct for community leaders
Compensation for time and emotional labor will be US$500 per year, paid bi-annually. To learn more about the advisory committee’s aims and structure, please review our charter.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the advisory committee, members must:

Be an employee at a Tessitura member organization
Have participated in the Tessitura community for at least six months. This could involve contributing to forum discussions, attending community group events, and/or attending a Tessitura Learning & Community Conference
Have at least six months of experience at an organization live with Tessitura

Applications close on Thursday, November 9. Full details about the application and review process are available here.

Hi ladies!

Was so nice to see so many of you the other day. Now that the preliminary schedule for TLCC has been released, I just wanted to take a minute and draw your attention the times for Women in Tech Meet-Ups at conference so you can have them in the back of your mind as your start to plan your schedule. The affinity group rooms are all located on the main ballroom level, and the following times are times that either myself, Anne, and/or Nancy will be there.

TL;DR The gender pay gap is back to 2019 levels, but the year of global parity remains the same as last year: 2154

TMS Refund Decision Tree

Hi everyone! As promised, here's the decision tree that my colleague Katina White made. She's great with the gifs, but I guess Spongebob and Patrick were removed once we decided to put it into our Tess documentation.

One of the things we did (when we had Spongebob and Patrick) was to actually put the dates on the decision tree. Ergo: "Was the payment made before TMS cutover?" was actually "Was the payment made before 5/15/23?". Also, the "Is today before the 90-day window has expired?" was " Is today before 8/13/23?".

I can't figure out how to attach an actual pdf, so hopefully this screen capture is readable. If not, let me know and I'll email a copy to you!
