FAQ How do I search the community?

The search bar at the top of any page searches across the entire Tessitura website — including the community, the help system, and site content. Understanding how search results are organized will help you find what you are looking for much faster.

How search is organized

When you run a search, results are divided into three tabs. Each tab searches a different part of the site:

  • Site Content — searches the main Tessitura website, including general pages and resources.
  • Help System — searches Tessitura's product documentation, webinars, videos, articles, training courses, and product updates.
  • Community — searches discussions, ideas, questions and answers, and other content posted by community members.

If your first search does not return what you expected, try switching tabs — the same search term can return very different results depending on which tab you are on.

Tip: Looking for a peer discussion or a question someone else has already asked? Start with the Community tab. Looking for official documentation, a webinar recording, or a training course? Start with Help System.

Filtering your results

Each tab has its own set of filters to help you narrow down results.

Community tab filters

  • Type — filter by Discussion, Idea, Jobs, or Question and Answer.
  • Time Frame & Date Picker — filter by past month, past quarter, or past year, or set a custom date range.

Help System tab filters

  • Products — filter by product area such as Access Control, Analytics, TNEW, or Tessitura Merchant Services.
  • Topics — filter by subject area such as Ticketing and Admissions, Marketing, Memberships, or Business Strategy.
  • Type — filter by Article, Course, Documentation, Product Update, or Video.
  • Time Frame — narrow results to a specific period.

Tip: If you are getting too many results, try combining a product filter with a topic filter to narrow things down quickly. For example, filtering by TNEW and Ticketing and Admissions will surface only content relevant to that combination.

Tips for better searches

  • Be specific. Searching for pricing rules TNEW will return more relevant results than just pricing.
  • Check all three tabs. A question answered in a community discussion and an official help article on the same topic will appear in different tabs.
  • Use the time frame filter. If you are looking for recent activity on a topic, filtering by past month or past quarter cuts through older results quickly.
  • Try different terms. If a search is not returning what you expect, try a synonym or a slightly different phrase — for example, constituent matching instead of duplicate records.

Can't find what you're looking for?

If search does not turn up an answer, it is worth posting a question in the relevant community group. Your question may help others too — and you may find that someone else has encountered the same thing.
